SVM
The Reason We Are Here—Our Students

Dean Markel

Strategic Priority Three of our strategic plan focuses on the school’s continued development of an innovative professional curriculum that prepares our students for the breadth of careers and opportunities available in veterinary medicine.

Some of the initiatives that we have undertaken to date include the creation of our selectives curriculum, with our first offering the week of August 26, 2013; the creation of web-based learning modules to teach core competencies to our students, including the hiring of our Instructional Designer, Tyler Gregory; the creation of the clinical education task force, chaired by Kristen Friedrichs; and the creation and expansion of our clinical skills laboratory, led by Robb Hardie. Each of these initiatives is designed to better prepare our students for all that veterinary medicine has to offer.
