Research Program

Our lab studies autocrine/paracrine regulation of the mammary gland and the interaction of the mammary gland with maternal metabolism during lactation.  Specifically, we are interested in how serotonin regulates calcium transport in the mammary gland and maternal calcium homeostasis.  Our secondary interest is in relation to serotonin’s regulation of glucose metabolism in the mammary gland and the mother.
