Research
Dr. Schmidt's research interests involve veterinary education, professional development of health professions educators, and effectiveness of instructional methods.
Responsibilities
As Associate Dean for Professional Programs Dr. Schmidt has oversight of the DVM professional training program. This includes activities related to AVMA-COE Accreditation, university program review, outcomes assessment, instructional technology in educational programs, and curriculum mapping and review. Currently, Dr. Schmidt also leads the DVM curriculum revision efforts.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Schmidt is interested in epidemiology and preventive medicine.
