Like others who teach foundation courses to first year students, I am particularly interested in relating the topics I teach to actual clinical situations. Clinical faculty and recent graduates enthusiastically contribute anecdotes, case studies and specimens to help students go beyond "book learning" to understand how their studies can be applied. Because the anatomical courses are among the first encountered by veterinary students, those of us who staff these courses are also in a position to help students make the transition to professional school.
