Comparative Orthopaedic Research Laboratory

Ryan Anderson

Ryan recently graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis on biomaterials and evaluation of tissue mechanics. He also received a Biology Core (BioCore) Curriculum Honors Certificate and a Biology in Engineering Certificate. He is now going to attend UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine as a dual DVM/PhD degree candidate!

Ryan’s current research is focused on determining how nerves degenerate in late-onset laryngeal paralysis in Labrador Retrievers. He is leading an electrodiagnostic evaluation of select peripheral nerves in client-owned canine companions in an attempt to label late-onset laryngeal paralysis in Labrador Retrievers as an axonopathy or demyelinating disease.

Outside of academia, Ryan is an avid health nut and loves to spend much of his free time outdoors on any type of body of water.
