Genetics of Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Disease (DLSD)
The Large Animal Surgery Service is looking for horses to investigate the genetic basis for degenerative suspensory ligament disease (DSLD) in the horse. We are collecting a nasal or oral tissue swab from each study horse and isolating the DNA from these samples. The DNA will be used to perform genomic genotyping of each horse. The data will be analyzed for a genetic association with the DSLD condition.
