Dr. Kelsey Brakel is originally from Michigan, and completed her DVM at Michigan State University in 2016. From 2016-2021, she was a trainee in the combined anatomic pathology residency/PhD program at (The) Ohio State University. Her thesis work used vesicular stomatitis virus vector systems to develop vaccine candidates for human respiratory syncytial virus. She came to COPLOW in 2022 as a clinical instructor. When not at a microscope, she can usually be found on a disc golf course.
