Dr. Ronald Schultz passed away on 26 April 2024 at the age of 80 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Schultz was a world-renowned veterinary immunologist who had a huge positive impact on many people, including CAVIDS Laboratory. Among his many contributions to animal health, Dr. Schultz established the shelter medicine program here at the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and established canine nomograph analysis as a service to dog breeders. He was a great mentor to many, and was deeply dedicated to education. He felt strongly that routine vaccinal antibody testing for core vaccines should be economically accessible for all pet owners. To carry his vision forward, CAVIDS laboratory remains committed to reasonable fees and caring customer service.
Thank you Dr. Schultz for your many contributions to animal health over your years of service! You are missed.
Dr. Laurie Larson, Director, CAVIDS Laboratory
