How do I prove I have completed the hours, and how long do I need to keep the proof?

The UW School of Veterinary Medicine will provide you with a certificate when you complete any online program or in-person conference. Documentation must be kept for five years from the date of certification. Review the Wisconsin veterinary medical continuing education administrative code for additional details.

If documentation from one of the UW School of Veterinary Medicine Continuing Education programs is lost, will you provide proof of attendance?

Yes. The school keeps the documentation for at least 7 years following a conference or online program and will send the appropriate paperwork to you upon request.

I am licensed in a state other than Wisconsin, do the UW School of Veterinary Medicine's online programs and in-person conferences count toward my continuing education hours?

The school is recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association as an accredited college of veterinary medicine. However, because each state has their own individualized regulations, it is recommended that you check with your state’s licensing board for final verification.
