Teaching with cases:  Nothing captures student interest more than framing your content as a clinical case.  This is commonly done by the clinical faculty.  We are very fortunate here at the SVM to have excellent rapport between the basic and clinical faculty, which makes doing this possible even for the PhD new to a veterinary setting.  All you have to do is talk to your clinical neighbors.  They are always ready to help suggest directions and resources.
