Canine ear infection
- Malassezia (Pityrosporum) pachydermatis
Diagnosis
- Thick, reddish-brown exudate (cerumen)
- Microscopic visualization of yeast in cerumen
- Some inflammatory cells, but no pus
Treatment
- Lavage ear with commercial cleaners, dilute vinegar, keep ears dry to prevent reoccurrence
