Vicki L. Kalscheur, HT (ASCP), MLT
Sr. Research Specialist, Staff Histotechnologist
Ms. Kalscheur received an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Madison Area Technical College in 1976. In 1981, she graduated from the Madison General Hospital School of Histotechnology with her certification in Histotechnology (ASCP). In 1985, she earned AALAS certification and in 1986 she received an additional Associate Degree in Biological Sciences from the Madison Area Technical College. From 1981-1987, Ms. Kalscheur worked in the clinical pathology at Hazleton Laboratories of America, Inc. and Covance Laboratories, Inc. In 1987, she joined the Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Research Specialist. Since then, Ms. Kalscheur has had the responsibility of building a competitive musculoskeletal histology laboratory that enables the faculty to conduct high-quality research utilizing calcified and decalcified methodology. For the last two years, she has been Vice President of the Wisconsin Histology Society and a committee Chairperson for the National Society of Histotechnology. In these positions she actively promotes her profession as a speaker, poster presenter, participant on panels and is a frequent contributor to journals, newsletters and other relative histology forums.
