Jean Bjorenson
  • BS 1973, Muhlenberg College
  • PhD (Anatomy) 1979, Thomas Jefferson University

Senior Lecturer

  • Veterinary developmental anatomy (course director) 934:503
  • Fundamental principles of veterinary anatomy (course director) 934:500
  • Anatomy of the Large Domestic Animals 934:550
  • Small Animal Surgery (anatomy review)
  • Equine Surgery (equine dental anatomy)

Like others who teach foundation courses to first year students, I am particularly interested in relating the topics I teach to actual clinical situations. Clinical faculty and recent graduates enthusiastically contribute anecdotes, case studies and specimens to help students go beyond "book learning" to understand how their studies can be applied. Because the anatomical courses are among the first encountered by veterinary students, those of us who staff these courses are also in a position to help students make the transition to professional school.

Committee Participation

  • First Semester Curriculum Committee Coordinator
  • Veterinary Art Committee (Chair)
  • Student Appeals Committee
  • Equity and Diversity Committee
