Larva Migrans and Echinococcus Hydatidosis

 Introduction

Larva migrans are diseases of humans associated with aberrant migration of larval nematodes from animals. Hydatidosis, while also a parasitic infestation, is not truly a larva migrans. Rather, it is a disease that occurs when human beings substitute as the normal intermediate host for cestodes (tapeworms) of the genus Echinococcus.
