Johne's Service Center

Based at the University of Wisconsin's School of Veterinary Medicine, the Johne's Service Center offers a variety of services for diagnosis and control of Johne's disease (paratuberculosis). Specifically the laboratory:

Performs routine diagnostic testing of clinical specimens (blood, feces and tissues);
Serum antibody ELISA
Culture for isolation of M. paratuberculosis
Interferon assay
Offers special services to evaluate M. paratuberculosis strains;
Provides cultures and biological specimens to other research centers; and
Conducts research on diagnosis, epidemiology and pathogenesis of Johne's disease.
