Welcome!
Welcome to the Friedrich lab. I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Pathobiological Sciences at the UW School of Veterinary Medicine in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin.

I started my lab in May 2008. We are located in the AIDS Vaccine Research Laboratory building in University Research Park.

My goal is to understand the evolutionary relationships between host immune responses and viruses that cause, or could potentially cause, pandemics. Through this understanding I hope we can design interventions that help control current pandemics like HIV/AIDS and prevent new ones caused by emerging or re-emerging viruses like influenza.

Have a look through the site to learn more about my group and our work.
