Clinical Rotations - Clinical Swine Medicine

Herd Based Approach to Swine Diseases

Learn to:

bulletanalyze pork production systems
bulletidentify health and production problems
bulletprovide clinical examination of swine herds
bulletdevelop clinical reasoning
bulletpractice common clinical techniques
bulletdescribe the economic consequences of recommendations

Students will gain an understanding of the veterinarians role in herd health and swine production.  Students are encouraged to develop clinical skills through swine farm visits, laboratories, and lecture/discussions with faculty, swine veterinarians, and swine producers.  Students will integrate concepts of swine production and swine medicine.
