Jane joined the Food Animal Production Medicine group in October 2009. Her responsibilities as a part-time Research Specialist include lameness issues in dairy cattle. She has been employed with the University of Wisconsin Madison since 1999. During those years, she has been a veterinary technician in the Large animal veterinary teaching hospital, veterinary technician with laboratory animals, and a research specialist for a soil scientist.

Jane's background includes being raised on a Registered Brown Swiss herd in Northern Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science –emphasis Dairy from the University of Illinois. She worked for a couple of years before returning to school to become a certified veterinary technician.

Her full-time job and personal interests include the following: The many duties as a co-owner of the family Brown Swiss herd.
