Background:

B.S. UW-Madison, 2003

Current Research:

My research focuses on how estrogen signaling modulates the inflammatory responses of microglia. The prevalence of many neurodegenerative diseases is sexually dimorphic, so one of my projects uses mouse models to examine the effect of sex on microglial gene expression. Using both mouse and cell culture models, I am also investigating estrogen signaling pathways in more depth, and looking at their cross-talk with P2 receptors.

I am also involved in the Delta Certificate in Research, Teaching, and Learning Program: (about Delta)
