CLINICAL INTEREST:

SUMMARY

Dr. Jorgensen is a equine veterinarian that is board certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM, Large Animal Medicine) with a special interest in equine lameness and the use of diagnostic ultrasound for limb injuries. She and Ron Genovese, VMD, have worked together over the years to analyze different series of ultrasonographic data in efforts to determine optimal therapeutic regimens for distal limb connective tissue injuries.

SUPERFICIAL DIGITAL FLEXOR TENDONITIS

Data from Superficial Digital Flexor Tendon (SDFT) injuries from thousands of thoroughbred and standardbred racehorses are being compiled to compare a variety of therapeutic regimens and determine the outcome of return to racing and racing prognosis.

INJURY OF THE DISTAL ANTEBRACHIUM

A systematic ultrasonographic approach to evaluate carpal sheath effusion or suspected tendon injuries in the distocaudal antebrachium or proximal carpometacarpal regions is currently being assessed for the general equine practitioner to use.
