Research in the Elfarra Lab

I am a second year graduate student in the Environmental Toxicology Program, working toward a Ph.D.  My current project involves research on Flavin-Containing Monooxygenases (FMO's).  I am studying species and organ specific expression of various FMO isoforms as well as characterizing their substrate specificities and kinetics.

This research is supported by an Environmental Toxicology Training Grant Fellowship sponsored by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences.  My hobbies are drawing, painting, hiking, and horseback riding.

B.A., Chemsitry, with a Biochemistry Concentration, Skidmore College, 1998, Minor in Environmental Studies and Studio Art.
