*Unless specified as “rack” or “10 pipettes” the prices are per bin. We currently do not charge for autoclaving biohazardous waste. Please follow the requirements listed below. - No animal waste is accepted.
- No fluids are accepted.
- Bags must not weigh more than 40 lb.
- You must use biohazard bags that are designed for autoclaving. (These are available through Fisher.)
- Close the bag by gathering up the opening, and loosely taping the neck of the bag with Autoclave Tape. DO NOT TIE THE BAG SHUT.
- Each bag must be identified with the room number or department name. (You can write the room number on the autoclave tape.)
- Bag contents should not be “compacted”. (The steam and heat in the autoclave needs to get to all the contents to adequately decontaminate.)
- There are two designated gray bins at SVM for submitting properly bagged waste for autoclaving.
